At Longhorn, we know that quality takes time. That’s why we use old-fashioned, time-honored, butchering methods like hand-cutting our meats. Our beef is dry-aged in a process that gently coaxes out incredible tenderness and unsurpassed flavors. It may take longer to do things our way, but the results are worth it. History

Longhorn Meat Co. is a family owned and operated business founded in 1976 in Newcastle, CA. Owner-operator Phil Kattenhorn grew up working alongside his father, the original owner of Longhorn Meat Co. Phil took over the family business when his father retired, moving the shop to the Auburn location where it has serviced the local community for over ten years.

Longhorn Meat Co. continues to use the same artisan butchering methods that have delighted customers for over four decades. Combining a time-honored art of hand-cutting meat with state-of-the-art equipment, Longhorn has become the go-to destination for meat processing.
